Therapeutic Exercises
Therapeutic exercise is defined as direct one-on-one supervision and instruction in the performance of exercises to develop, improve and/or maintain muscular strength and endurance, cardio-respiratory endurance, range of motion and flexibility, as well as overall functional ability.

Therapeutic Activities
Therapeutic activities is defined as direct one-on-one supervision and instruction in the use of dynamic activities to develop, restore or improve one or more specific activities of daily living or employment. The term “therapeutic activities” is not intended to apply to instructions in general therapeutic exercises. Examples are bed mobility, transfers, and balance training.

Manual Therapy
Manual therapy is defined as direct one-on-one patient contact in the performance of passive skilled hands-on therapeutic techniques including, but not limited to joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, connective tissue techniques, manual lymphatic drainage, and manual traction. Manual therapy techniques are used to treat restricted motion of joints and soft tissues in the extremities, neck, and trunk. The intent of the service is to increase pain-free range of motion and facilitate a return to functional activities.

Physical Therapy Assessment
No physician referral is required. Self-Pay only. Physical Therapy Assessment is a one-on-one consultation that may include an injury screen or a fall screen. An injury screen is appropriate if you’re in pain, have recently injured yourself, or just think something might be wrong. A fall screen is appropriate if you have fallen in the last 6 months, you have a fear of falling, you regularly use an assistive device such as a walker or cane to walk, or you need assistance with activities of daily living, such as showering, or getting dressed. We can help you determine if you need to see a physician or if physical therapy is right for you.

Gait Training
Gait training is defined as direct one-on-one contact in the performance of progressive exercises or activities designed to improve a patient with a neurological or musculoskeletal disorder to ambulate safely and efficiently. This procedure may include training in ambulation on even or uneven surfaces or stair climbing and may involve the use of an assistive device such as a cane, walker, prosthesis, orthosis or parallel bars to promote safe and proficient gait.

Neuromuscular Re-education
Neuromuscular re-education is defined as direct one-on-one supervision and instruction performance of exercises designed to improve and/or maintain balance, coordination, kinesthetic sense, posture, and/or proprioception for functional activities.

Physical Therapy Re-Evaluation
Re-evaluation of physical therapy established plan of care requiring: 1. An examination (including a review of history and use of standardized tests and measures)2. A revised plan of care (based on use of a standardized patient assessment instrument and/or measurable assessment of functional outcome).
